Aeron LifeCycles Clinical Laboratory is a research and development company focused on the assessment of hormonal levels and their effects. Founded in 1986 with its scientific effort going back to the early '70s, Aeron has developed highly sensitive and specific, non-invasive laboratory saliva tests that measure the biologically active portion of hormones in the body. Samples for salivary hormone measurement can be collected conveniently in the home with the provided supplies and sent to the laboratory by US mail in a prepaid mailer. As a clinical laboratory (CA license CLF4707, CLIA License # 05D0600602), Aeron offers saliva tests for the measurement of baseline hormonal levels to assess supplementation requirements as well as to monitor and adjust hormonal supplementation. Aeron provides these testing services to physicians and medical centers throughout the United States, Australia, Canada and Europe.

Aeron also offers a non-invasive assessment of bone turnover, the Pyrilinks-D (deoxypyridinoline) urine test, as an indication for and monitor of estrogen replacement therapy for osteoporosis. In combination with bone density measurement, rates of bone turnover are important predictors of the risk of fracture and the efficacy of therapy.

The use of  bio-identical hormone replacement and natural supplements continues to be a major focus of research at Aeron.

Aeron LifeCycles Mission Statement

Aeron LifeCycles Clinical Laboratory is pioneering the concept that sex steroid hormone levels should be monitored to determine the need for specific hormone replacement and titrated to individualize patient dosing for maximum long-term health benefits while minimizing undesirable side effects.

Recognizing the limitations of blood testing and the need for timely specimen collection, Aeron specializes in the analysis of saliva, the biological fluid of choice for hormone analysis. Using non-invasive, precisely-timed hormone saliva collection, followed by laboratory analysis, a direct measure of the free, unbound hormone level can be accurately  determined.

Aeron LifeCycles strives to instill a keen understanding of the importance of long-term therapeutic compliance by including routine hormone level measurement in the care of an aging population.
